This was the house I built in Minecraft in December. I didn't really know what I was building until it was done, so a lot of this build looks a little random. I designed it so that most of it was underground, so I could add way more rooms and not run out of space. I put a main room, a bedroom, and two other rooms that don't really serve any purpose. I didn't really run into any difficulties with making this house, mostly because I had just made a town in Minecraft in November. My favorite part of this build is the roof, because I had never made a roof that looks like that before. I learned how to make a roof like that by looking at other people's Minecraft builds, and experimenting until the roof looked the way I wanted it to. All in all, I am really happy with how the build turned out.
This is what I ended up carving using the Carvey. I chose the Hamilton logo because I am a big fan of the musical, and I chose to put my name in the design because I wanted to make my design more personal. The carving wasn't that hard to make, but designing it was a little bit of a challenge, and I had to go into photoshop and thicken some of the lines near the top so that it would print properly. All in all, I am really happy with how the carving turned out, and I think it looks realy cool.
The project I want to work on in December is building another building in MInecraft, because I really enjoyed working on that this past month. If I finish that before December is over, I think I might make something using the 3d printer or Carvey, because that seems like fun. I will kniw I'm done with my Minecraft build when I have built something (I don't know what) to the best of my ability and I can't think of any improvements to make to it.
This trimester I worked on a variety of different projects. The first project I made was in Flash Animation, and at first it was difficult for me to create what I wanted to, but after I worked on the animation for long enough I was able to figure out how to animate what I wanted. After that, I ended up making a few more flash animations, and those were all pretty easy for me to make. The tween flash animation was hard for me though, because I had a hard time getting the shapes to move in the way I wanted. Even though I eventually figured most of it out, the end of the animation was still a little messy, so that was harder for me to make than the other animations were. After that, the final project I worked on this trimester was building in Minecraft, which was a little easier this year because I worked in Minecraft last year, but it was still pretty difficult. One of the most difficult things about Minecraft was that since you build in a world, there were always animals and water and lava and other things getting in the way of what I was trying to build. After starting over a few times, I was finally able to build what I wanted, and I learned a lot about how Minecraft works.
This is my final project for the 1st trimester, and it is a tour of the things I have built in my world in Minecraft.
Projects I Have Worked On:
-Built a town/village in Minecraft
-Flash Animation 1
-Flash Animation 2
-Flash Animation 3
-Flash Animation Tween
-Google Flash Animation
For my final project this trimester, I am going to record a tour of what I built in Minecraft.
I started this project a while ago, but I didn't finish it until now because I was working on other projects. It is supposed to be a sequel to my first ever flash animation, and it features the same little guy that was in that one. In this animation, he is walking through a bunch of different places, the lights are turned off at one point, he falls through the floor, and also gets hit on the head. I also added sound to this, just like the unicorn flash animation, and the bouncing ball flash animation.
Recently the project I was working on was Flash Project 3, which I just finished. Some difficulties I had with the project was when I was done finding sound effects that matched my animation and sounded realistic, but I solved that problem by downloading some more free sound effects off the internet, and including them in my animation.
In the beginning my animation starts with a oval, which gradually changes size and shape, before morphing into a bunch of green squares. After that, the green squares turn into a bunch of other shapes, each a different color, some rainbow. Finally, the shapes turn into the words The End, and then the animation ends. I tried a bunch of other ideas before I came up with this idea, which was my favorite, and worked way better than my other ideas. My personal favorite part of this animation is when the shapes turn into rainbow colors, I thought how that turned out was really cool, and it took me a while to figure out what colors I wanted.
