Gavin's Project Blog

Welcome to the blog this is me Gavin and my team Caleb, Garrett, Mateo, and Jacob, accomplishing whatever we put our minds to.
The Modern House 3D Print
This is the final product of the Modern House 3D Print.
The Fingerboard Skatepark
This is day one of the fingerboard skatepark day one, working on the quarter pipe, the curved ledge, and the flower box.
Day two of the fingerboard skatepark, working on building the huba aka ledge and ramp. Also working on the staircase.
TheNew House That is Modeled After My House
This house will eventually be turned into a miniature house made out of wood, modeled out of the 3-D print.
Here is the 3-D Print of the house design that will later be modeled into wood.
The Blackhawks Carvey Project
This here is the design on the Blackhawks photo I traced in photoshop.
This is the uploaded version of the file in photoshop but in Easle.inventabes.com
This is the final product of the Blackhawks carvey project.
Photoshop Edits
I was working on learning on how to blur and edit and image to look professional on photoshop.
Today I added edits onto my finished photo in photoshop to make it look better for the community to view it.
Minecraft Mountain House Project
Today in my minecraft mountain house project I added the framing for the house so then I have a set base and size and perimeter for the new house.
So today I made a second floor, ceilings, walls, and I also decided to change the framing to cyan clay and added lighting to the inside of the house.
Today I added a basement and added some terrain on the bottom of the house to connect to the mountain to add a smoother transition from the house to the mountain to make the house look more appealing to visitors.
On the last day of building the mountain house I added furniture to make the house finished and look better.
My plan is: to add more houses to the mountain to make this mountain look like a mountain town.
The Microbit Project
Here I programed Microbits for the skatepark to add some lights to make the skatepark look cooler.
Here I 3-D printed cases for the microbits to make them look better so then the skatepark looks cooler.
12/19/18
This year so far I have 3-D printed 2 things. Both of those are houses, one modern, and the other house traditional and I hope to do more prints in the future. I have also used other machines like the carvey machine to cut other cool things like the Chicago Blackhawks hockey logo. I have also made a brand of fingerboards basically skateboards for your fingers it is called Flex Dex Fingerboards. I made a fingerboard skatepark basically and skatepark but for fingerboards and it is custom made from my dad and I to have want I want in the skatepark. I have also worked on my modern minecraft house on the side of mountain. And the latest thing that I have worked on is programing microbits for the fingerboard skatepark to say FIBER BOARDS for Mateo's brand of fingerboards. For the microbits I made custom cases so the micrbits look more appealing when on the skatepark. We are going to put the microbits on the fingerboard skatepark.
R2-D2 3-D Print Project
Here today I decided to start to create a R2-D2 because I love star wars and I though that maybe I could crate R2-D2 because it looked like a good base for the beginning for more star wars 3-D Prints.
Here today I wanted to make the third leg so then it adds a more realistic visualization of R2-D2 and I decided to change some colors like the head and I also decided to add R2-D2's eye.
Here is a photo of me adding some small details to the R2-D2 like the better shaped eye, the lines on his chest, as well as the circles on the base that will eventually go on his face.
I decided to change my project over the week from making cases for microbits and changing it to make a 3-D Print of an R2-D2 model and next week I want to work on the small details on R2-D2 so then the model of R2-D2 looks as real as possible to make on a 3-D model.
Today I added more details to my R2-D2 to make it more realistic.
Today was the last detail that I put on R2-D2 and this is now the final 3-D model of R2-D2 and now all that I have to do is print it.
This is how the R2-D2 will print and then I will glue the pieces together and up above in the last photo is how the R2-D2 should look after glued.
This is how the print came out.
Continuing the minecraft house project
Today I made another floor and in that floor I made an indoor farm.
Today I made another floor and it is going to be used as another bedroom.
Today I added The windows, the beds, the bookshelves and the floors to the top floor on the mountain house that which is the other bedroom.
Today I added a library to the top left of the house. I also made some terrain on the back of the house to make the house look like it was built into a mountain.
February 2 2019
Today I found a prototype and want to make the wheels roll so it is a functional fingerboard.
The Final Product Of the R2-D2
This was the final product after I painted it with paint markers.
My Main 2nd Trimester Project!!!
This was my main 2nd Trimester Project I think it turned out very well after a 3 week process of making it in tinkercad.com and print it on the 3-D printer and painting it with paint markers.
The Minecraft Bases Project
On my first day of making the minecraft bunker I made a 3 by 3 spiral piston door on the ground, and it is the entrance to my future base.
Today in my bases I added a 3by3 spiral piston door to make more rooms for the base.
Trimester 3
My goals for this trimester.
- The goals that I have for this trimester, are make a microbit game, and make a Battle Royale in Minecraft.
- The goal I have for this week is to start make a basis for the Microbit game.
Microbit Project
Today I learned how to make basic codes so then the microbit would react to the code when you preform that same code.
Fingerboard Obstacles Project
Today I made a 4 stair, a box, a ramp, and a hand rail with a little flower box on the side, and that is my first obstacle.
This is the main block in the obstacle and is a key factor in order to have space to start your trick and finish on the rail. It is like the runway for an airplane, without it, it wouldn't have space to start its flight.
On the left is part of the 4 stair and on the right is the ramp that leads to the box and then the rail after that.
On the bottom is the flower box border, and on the top is the rail which is going to be attached to the big box, and the 4 stair after it is printed.
The Minecraft Redstone Project
This is The redstone behind the automatic sorting item system so it is easier to sort my items.
This is what the build looks like from the front and you can't see any of the redstone so the items sorting system looks very clean and not ugly.
Here on the left today I added and item elevator so then I don't have to go behind the system and put the items in there. Instead I Added the item elevator because it looks better and it is more functional.
Here today I extended the build so then I would have just a bit more storage for the blocks that I would use most often in my future builds.
April 9th, 2019
So far I have accomplished my goals like the microbit goal, because I didn't go through with it, but i helped a bit of it. I moved more into minecraft redstone, because I found that, that is more interesting than microbits for me, because it is like engineering which is what I like in a more fun way than microbits in my opinion.
Today I am hoping to make an automatic fish farm to get fish and other stuff using pretty simple redstone as shown in the photo below.

Here is the afk fish farm and this will give you an insane amount of food along with the uncommon but definitely able to get, (enchantment books and tools like bows and fishing rods).
April 15th, 2019
This week I have been working on getting the materials for the project and now we finally have them.
The main challenge was that we kept getting our stuff stolen so that is why we could not start the build but now we hoped that the stealing was over and that we got to start our project.
All that is left for us to start our project is to get some more materials and then we can finally start it.
This was just the front of our Minecraft castle.
THIS IS MY YEA PROJECT
THE YEA PROJECT MINECRAFT MOVIE
My Favorite Year In Chute...
The Experience
My overall experience about this year was absolutely fantastic because of what I managed to accomplish such as the fingerboard skatepark which the biggest project I did this year in this class. I also worked on a 3-D printed R2-D2 which took me a long time to figure out the dimensions for so I had to look where everything was going to go because I had to print it in parts and glue them together after the print. Another project that I worked on this year was the cliffside mansion in my minecraft creative world this project took me about a month to design, build and videotape overall. I thought that the house turned out very well, and good looking. I also made more 3-D prints like the two houses, and a carvey where I made a Chicago Blackhawks design on the block and lastly I worked on a laser cut for a fingerboard ramp which failed which is why I wish I worked on a group with that because I had very minimal knowledge on how to work it. This year I learned about my organization skills and how to shoot great looking photos, as well as my design skills for 3-D printing things with abstract architecture.
I think that even though the class was of great size I think that it opened up opportunity to work with others and figure out how to problem solve together. We demonstrated this as a team in the pursa 3-D print build, because we needed to solve the problem of how to make the filament load and we needed to order parts for it to try and fix it. Over this class was great and I cant wait to come back and visit you next year in high school.
