Welcome to Joselyn's Page

I'm working on editing the photos I took with Isabella on Tuesday. I mostly just changed the brightness and contrast of the photos because i still wanted them to be unique and real as possible. I also did really try to get a shot of all the players so that they all have a picture of them in action. I really did like going to the game and taking pictures of them. I love photography and it was super fun using the big cameras and learning how to use them. But in the future I hope to do more things with photography.
Me and Isabella are currently in the making of a new project. We were inspired by our project for social studies. We felt very sad and we wanted to make a memorial for the people who died during the holocaust. So we are currently still brain storming and free styling. We are playing around in photoshop to see what fits best/what looks best.
This is my ping pong image. My partner was Jacob and this is the photo I came up with. I didn't really know what to do for my image. I just focused more on the filter. I wanted to make the image more warmer so I played with the saturation, contrast, temperature, highlights, shadows. And my finish product was this. I realized that saturation and contrast are really important in an image and help shape and

I'm done with my project. I call it Holocaust Memories. I used Photoshop and I messed around a lot with blending the pictures to the background, and erasing the pictures to make it blend in. I also used a lot of blending, fading, shadows, and contrast with the text to make it blend in with the background and I wanted a kind of mysterious fade to the background, so the greyish color is the contrast and the fade and shadows I added to it. The text, most quotes I used are from Holocaust I wanted the people who would see my project to feel empathy and to feel and hear from Holocaust survivors.

Me and Isabella are working on a new project we haven't figured out a name for it yet, but the idea or theme is putting yourself in someone else's shoes. We have figured out the people we want to interview, and we are asking them questions about themselves, others, and racial problems. We are going to find videos of many problematic things, we might add poetry, but we are putting the voices of the people we interviewed over the videos. We really want to make something moving and inspiring.
(we shared our file with the questions and names of people we want to interview on google docs, it's called "ideas for media arts project")

December 4th blog entry:
1) The project i'm working on now is me and Isabella's interview project. The questions we asked are kinda personal, and they touch very sensitive topics. We tried to interview different people with different cultures, backgrounds, ethnicity. We were using the red camera, but now we are using imovie to edit the videos.
2) We've put the videos on imovie and we are editing them, we only need a few more.
3) By the end of friday we plan to have 3 videos edited and done.
4) I will need to edit the photos and pu in the questions so that it flows good to complete the project.
5) I plan to complete this project by the end of next week
We are all the same under our skin

Me and Isabella finished our project!!! I personally think this has been our biggest project so far. The journey of the project was amazing. We got to learn how to use the cameras, we got to learn more about our classmates, and the editing was super fun, but also kinda stressful. In the beginning of this project we didnt really know what we wanted to do we were more focusing on racism and posibly self-esteem issues, but as we began interviewing people. different subjects came up, and we began to brainstorm and just move along with the things people said.
