What I really liked about the class was that you gave us a lot of independence this year and with our own independent projects you gave us the chance to do anything, if we said we wanted to do something you would make it happen. What i really liked was how we got to work with whomever we want so that we could bounce project ideas off of each other to eventually do something huge. For example this year we did the 50th shirts, I remember in the beginning were bouncing around ideas about how we could make the screen for the shirts since the design was so small. What could happen better for next year is that we could start the big projects for the school in the beginning so we can start it earlier and not be finishing them at the last minute.
The best part of the 50th experience was the little extra things hat we had, like the photo booth, buttons, and the tattoos. What we could do better is we could start doing the projects a lot earlier in the year so that we are not rushing and stressed at the very last minute.
Skills that are valuable in Advanced Media Arts:
My favorite part of the tie-dye day was taking the pictures and seeing everyone having fun dying the shirts. What could be improved for next time is organizing who is helping with the project so that everyone knows what they are doing nd nobody complains about not beig apart of it . I have really enjoyed making the shirts and sweatpants for the 50th.
My independent project is creating the 50th anniversary sweatpants and t-shirts with Jenny. We have finished tye dying the t-shirts and now we are working on screen printing the logo for both the shirts and sweatpants.
Last Week I:
My Goal For This Week Is:
I am continuing to work in a partnership with Jenny. We have been working on getting the design from other people for their t-shirts or sweatpants, then putting it in Silhouette Studio so that we can then carve it on the silhouette carver. We then take out the stickers that are going to be showing on the shirts or pants, place it on a a sticky sheet, and lastly put it on a screen to then paint it on the shirts or paints. I have learned how to scale the images on Silhouette Studio and use the carver. At some point this trimester though i would like to use the wood carver to carve something.
