Photoshop Learning Process

Halloween Photo Frames

Picture
Me and Lucinda made the frame for this projcet in photoshop. We added text to show what the frame was for, and decorated it with Halloween related things. Then, throughout this week we have been practicing with other students that will be working on Halloween with the photoshoot and adding these pictures into the frame to see what they will look like.

Poem Editing Project

Picture
In this project we were trying to create an image of how we pictured the poem we read. We thought that we could add an image of of a cloud over an ocean and add the tulip and tree in the background, just taking pictures off of google photos. We cut out the background of each of the pictures so that we could have the ocean and cloud in the background.

PBIS M.O.V.E. With a Purpose Movie

This is our move with a purpose video that we made for the half-day presentation. We took videos of us doing good and bad behavior for how you should be acting in the hallway. I liked this project and I want to do something like this again because I liked acting in it and editing it by putting music and words in it. I also thought it was cool to watch it on the actual half-day with every class and seeing myself in it.

Ping Pong Project

Picture
At first when I saw Faith's photo I was stuck on what to do because the photo was already so beautiful so I didn't want to change it to make it weird. I then thought that I could add the raindrops and I thought that was a good idea. I used photoshop mix to edit the photo. I took a photo of raindrops off of the internet and I put it into photoshop mix. I put the raindrop photo above the sunset photo and enlarged the raindrop photo a little bit. I used the overlay filter at the end to finish off he photo and I think I made this photo very cool.

Halloween Photo Shoot

Picture
Picture
During the halloween photoshoot on halloween day, we used the frame that me and Lucinda made in photoshop. We worked as a group of 5, me, Lucinda, Rose, Sofia, and Taryn and we took photos of all the students during lunch. I thought this was a fun experience because we got to practice taking the photos, editing them, and printing them. Although it was difficult and time consuming, it was fun and we learner a lot. If I did this again I think we should set up a better photo taking station because it was hard to control all of the kids while they were all over the place and nobody was standing in line. I also think that we should organize the photo printing process more because it took a long time to do and I think it was a little unorganized. Overall I think we did a good job on this whole project.

This week: 11/20/17

Me, Taryn and Lucinda are working on a school tour for the Phoenix students but we are not finished yet.  We are filming this tour and telling them a little about our school. We will probably start editing tomorrow but I don't think we will have the final project done till after Thanksgiving break. (Still working on this)

December 4th Blog

The project I am working on is a singing video with Sofia. We are using our iPads because we felt that was easiest and the quality isn't too bad and we will be editing this video in iMovie soon. We taken a long enough video without messing up yet but we are still recording trying to get a good one. I also think that I want to edit a bunch of our little successful clips because we tried a bunch of songs and I think parts of them are good so we can put them all together. By the end of the day Friday I think we will have a good video and we will begin editing. We just need to work a little more on this to complete it and I think it will be completed sometime next week.

Phoenix School Tour

In this project Vivian, Taryn and I made a video of our school tour to send to the Phoenix students so we could compare our schools and show them what our school in Evanston looks like. We separated it by the three floors and each one of us recorded the video for each floor. We then put it into iMovie and edited and added transitions to the video.

Vivian and Sofia's Signing Collage

In this project me and Sofia made singing videos in the breezeway but we couldn't decide on what song to sing so we made several videos and filmed for almost two weeks and we decided we would just make a collage of all our favorite clips. I edited the video on iMovie and added tittles showing each of the songs and I really liked this project because I love to sing so it was cool how I added that into this class.

December 12th check-in

I just finished the signing video with Sofia above and editing it and now I am going to make something on the laser cutter for my family for Christmas, like Lucinda made.

Laser Cutter Christmas Present

Picture
Picture
I made a present for my mom for Christmas as my project. For this project I used the laser cutter. The steps I took to complete this project were, I first took the image of me and my mom off my phone, I put my picture into Photoshop. Then I edited it to the threshold to what I wanted it to be so it would engrave it in the wood. I then moved that image to the website for the laser cutter. I then put in a heart around the picture and put a hole for where I wanted to hang it up. I wanted to add words but I didn't want it to be only Christmas related, so I added the words "I love you mommy!" To do that I put those words into photoshop and added them into the website getting ready for cutting. Next I set up the wood in the machine and pressed play to watch it print. It printed exactly how I imagined and I liked this project.

January 12th Blog

Picture
I am interested in filming with the DSLR the "what home feels like" video for advanced drama. I am also interested in filming or photographing the actual show when it comes. I have been working on making a design for a t-shirt that I am making. I am partially doing this with Rose because she is also making a shirt so she is working on a similar process as me. At the moment I have done the design and I am looking for the right shirt to put it on. On the side I have been helping organize the closet also.

January 26th

Picture
I am doing the doodle for Google right now. I put the shirt making project on hold and I am doing this instead. My project was inspired by the fact that I love the city and want to move to New York when I am older. I drew out a sketch and am now tracing my sketch in Photoshop.

February 2nd

Picture
Right now I am still working on my doodle for Google and I just finished the bridge and inside the letters. I was frustrated at first because I couldn't figure out how to fill in the letters in a colorful and creative way but I decided to use gradient of purple and blue to make it look like New York City at night. I just used the regular paintbrush tool to trace my bridge.

Doodle for Google

Picture
I finished my doodle for Google and I think it was a very fun project that I am proud of. I made a cool background for it with using purple and blue as my main colors to represent the sky. I added stars to all the letters to add detail. I used the gradient tool to color all of the building brown but in a more creative way. This project is something that challenged me and was definetly time consuming but in a good way and I think that it I would love to do something like this again.

17 Video

I have been working on a Gun Violence iMovie with Lucinda and Taryn for the past week or so. We really wanted to show everyone in the school and teach them on how important it is to have stronger gun control. The purpose of the video was to show the students and teachers in our school what we strongly feel needs to change. First, we developed a set of interview questions that we were going to ask to Chris Brown and Lucinda Lindland who both knew someone who was killed by a gun and volunteered to be in our video. Next, we decided to ask a bunch of people to say 17 honoring the 17 people who were killed in the mass school shooting in Parkland Florida. We recorded those students and dumped the footage into a video and put a song in the backround to pull the whole video together. Our final step was to show the video to Mr. Mac and see the possibilites of sharing our video with the students and teachers at our school.
