Over the course of the third trimester I helped with a lot of little smaller jobs especially with the 50th anniversary night like putting up the 50th anniversary display, running the videos that night, setting up the auditorium for that night, Other Things I did was a lot of photography especially with the tie dye day.
My Favorite parts of this class was being able to choose our own projects and what we want to do. Also the carvey was a really fun part of this year.
Some things I would change are making sure everyone gets to do things like take photos because for almost every game and event (PBIS) was the same exact people did it 99% of the time, I had to bring my camera for all the games if I wanted to take photos if I wanted to take photos because even if I had signed up for a school one I still wouldnt get it.
I would keep it the same for next year, people will not like to be sitting in a circle reflecting on others work like once a week, maybe you could go back to the comments on the blog but the circle in the back of the room no one liked.
I would keep the flash projects at the beginning of the year but I would only do 1 flash project and try to teach both the frame by frame and the tween in 1 project, after that project is done I would do another class project but not in flash maybe in photoshop or garage band and maybe iMovie. But after 3 class projects people are going to want to start to do the projects that they want to do.
Im going to be displaying a slideshow of some photos that I throughout this year.
The best part of being apart of this experience was being able to use my skills in the auditorium from being in stage crew all of my 3 years at chute. This allowed our team to be able to do more things without needing a teacher to do them because I knew how to do them, Things like being able to get the screen down, control the lights and instruct others on how to control the lights, check and adjust sound if needed, etc. Another fun thing about being apart of the 50th was being able to see all past pictures in the previous yearbooks.
Advice for next years advanced media students:
You don't necessarily need to be able to completely use every single program on the first day of advanced media, But you do need to be good at being able to learn for youtube and online tutorials for those programs. Also you need to be able to work under stress easily and be open to learning new things.
For the 50th anniversary I did a lot of photography in the advanced art class while they were working on the stained glass. Also I was outside all day on tie dye day helping with the tie dye and also taking photos. Another thing I did was help get the projector and screen down and ready during the in school concert.
